John 18:28	Then the Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor.By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.
	● 또 그들이 예수를 가야바에게서 관정으로 끌고 가니 새벽이라 그들은 더럽힘을 받지 아니하고 유월절 잔치를 먹고자 하여 관정에 들어가지 아니하더라   ● by now 지금쯤은.이미.이제 ● uncleanness [|ʌn|kli:nes] 부정(不淨).불결함.더러움
John 18:29	So Pilate came out to them and asked, "What charges are you bringing against this man?"
	그러므로 빌라도가 밖으로 나가서 그들에게 말하되 너희가 무슨 일로 이 사람을 고발하느냐   ● bring charge against ..를 기소하다       ▶The prosecution should keep in mind the ruling and no longer bring       charges against any suspect without evidence     -검찰은 그 판결을 유념하여 다시는 충분한 증거없이 용의자를 기소해서는 안된다  ○ prosecution [prὰsikjúːʃən] 기소.소추.검찰  ○ suspect [səspékt] 의심하다..생각하다.혐의를 받은.용의자 혐의자 ○ ruling [rúːliŋ] 집권하는.지배.판결.심판.결정
John 18:30	"If he were not a criminal," they replied, "we would not have handed him over to you."
	대답하여 이르되 이 사람이 행악자가 아니었더라면 우리가 당신에게 넘기지 아니하였겠나이다
John 18:31	Pilate said, "Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law." "But we have no right to execute anyone," the Jews objected.
	빌라도가 이르되 너희가 그를 데려다가 너희 법대로 재판하라 유대인들이 이르되 우리에게는 사람을 죽이는 권한이 없나이다 하니   ● excute [|eksɪkju:t] ①실행하다.수행하다.②(어떤 기술적인 동작을) 해내다.     ③(예술 작품을 만들어 내다.④(법적 문서대로)집행하다.이행하다.     ⑤처형(사형하다)(excute somebody for something)      ▶He was excuted for treason 그는 반역죄로 처형되었다 ○ treason [|tri:zn]  반역죄
John 18:32	This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die would be fulfilled.
	이는 예수께서 자기가 어떠한 죽음으로 죽일 것을 가리켜 하신 말씀을 응하게 하려 함이러라
John 18:33	Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"
	● 이에 빌라도가 다시 관정에 들어가 예수를 불러 이르되 네가 유대인의 왕이냐    ● summon [sΛmən] 소환하다.불러내다.끄집어내다
John 18:34	"Is that your own idea,"  Jesus asked,    "or did others talk to you about me?"
	예수께서 대답하시되    이는 네가 스스로 하는 말이냐 다른 사람들이 나에 대하여 네게 한 말이냐
John 18:35	"Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied. "It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?"
	빌라도가 대답하되 내가 유대인이냐 네 나라 사람과 대제사장들이 너를 내게 넘겼으니 네가 무엇을 하였느냐
John 18:36	Jesus said,    "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would   fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is   from another place."
	예수께서 대답하시되    내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니니라 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속한 것   이었더라면 내 종들이 싸워 나로 유대인들에게 넘겨지지 않게 하였으리라   이제 내 나라는 여기에 속한 것이 아니니라
John 18:37	"You are king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered,    "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
	빌라도가 이르되 그러면 네가 왕이 아니냐 예수께서 대답하시되    네 말과 같이 내가 왕이니라 내가 이를 위하여 태어났으며 이를 위하여 세상   에 왔나니 곧 진리에 대하여 증언하려 함이로라 무릇 진리에 속한 자는   내 음성을 듣느니라   하신대   ● testify to ..를 증명하다.증거하다.증언하다     ▶The frequence performance testifies to its popularity       -그 협주곡이 자주 공연에 오르는 것은 그것의 대중적 인기를 증명하는 것이다.
John 18:38	"What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and asked, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
	빌라도가 이르되 진리가 무엇이냐 하더라 ● 이 말을 하고 다시 유대인들에게 나가서 이르되 나는 그에게서 아무 죄도 찾지못하였노라   ● basis [béisis] 기준.근거.기초.토대.이유 ● ..의 근거가 되다 form(provide/furnish/afford) a basis for..     ▶The opposition must point out that evolution gives no basis for human dignity      -반대파들은 진화론이 인간의 존엄성에 대한 근거를 제시하지 못함을 지적해야       한다(나타내야 한다)
John 18:39	But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want to me to release 'the king of the Jews'?"
	유월절이면 내가 너희에게  한 사람을 놓아 주는 전례가 있으니 그러면 너희는 내가 유대인의 왕을 너희에게 놓아 주기를 원하느냐 하니
John 18:40	They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas [bərǽbəs]!" Now Barabbas had taken part in a rebellion.
	그들이 또 소리 질러 이르되 이 사람이 아니라 바라바라 하니 바라바는 강도였더라   ● rebellion [ribéljən] 반란.반항.폭동.반역
John 19:1	Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.
	이에 빌라도가 예수를 데려다가 채찍질하더라   ● flog [flag] 팔아치우다..을 훔치다.채찍질하여 나아가게 하다
John 19:2	The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe
	군인들이 가시나무로 관을 엮어 그의 머리에 씌우고 자색 옷을 입히고   ● thorn [θɔːrn] 가시.고통을 주는 것 ● clothe [klouð] in ..을 입히다
John 19:3	and went up to him again and again, saying, "Hail, king of th Jews!" And they struck him in the face.
	앞에 가서 이르되 유대인의 왕이여 평안할지어다 하며 손으로 때리더라   ● heil [heil] 찬양.환호.만세     ▶All Hail the Queen!/Hail to the Queen! 여왕폐하 만세!
