"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. |

●또 너희는 기도할 때에 외식하는 자와같이 하지 말라. 그들은 사람에게 보이려고 회당과 큰 거리 어귀에 서서 기도하기를 좋아하느니라. 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 그들은 자기 상을 이미 받았느니라.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. |

너는 기도할 때에 네 골방에 들어가 문을 닫고 은밀한 중에 계신 네아버지께 기도하라. 은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라.

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. |

또 기도할 때에 이방인과 같이 중언부언하지 말라. 그들은 말을 많이 하여야 들으실 줄 생각하느니라.

그러므로 너희는 이렇게 기도하라. 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. |
| 나라가 임하시오며 뜻이 하늘에서 이루어진 것같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다. | |

우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 자를 사하여 준 것 같이 우리 죄를 사하여 주시옵고

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
